Sarah J. Slover
Photographer | Musician | Arts Administrator
Sarah is a life-long musician, visual artist, and writer. She studied music, art, and theater from the age of 5 through grad school. She moved to Bloomington, Indiana, in 2003 to pursue a masters in voice performance at the IU Jacobs School of Music, where she has worked since 2011 doing special event planning, blog and social media management, layout design for print and digital communications, and other administrative work for various units within the school. She earned a second masters in arts administration from the O’Neill School in May of 2020.
In 2019, just after her 41st birthday, Sarah had a dream to start a business and bought her first DSLR. She got to work right away building her photography skills and experience with help from mentors from the Bloomington Photography Club and “YouTube University”. Her primary output is in portraiture, but she loves exploring the world through macro, abstract, landscape, street, and travel photography.
As a staunch advocate for self-love and personal growth, Sarah also works with people (all people, but especially Gen X women and older) to create art photography that celebrates their unique beauty, personal growth, and resilience. Her ultimate goal is to help people begin to heal their relationships with themselves – mind, body, and soul – through photography, curiosity, and creative exploration. She is currently collaborating with Gestalt therapist and long-time friend, Kate Montagu, on designing a retreat centered around this work.
Sarah is also devoted wife and mother who loves a good adventure, exploring nature, traveling, meeting new people, journaling, and waxing philosophical over steaming hot cups of coffee.
